Two CCE Comets and one former Comet participated in the big Texas Bluebonnet Award 2018-19 list reveal at this year’s Texas Book Festival! The Texas Bluebonnet Award reading program was established in 1979 to encourage Texas children to read more books, explore a variety of current books, develop powers of discrimination and identify their favorite books. A list of 20 books is chosen by a committee of librarians, which includes CCE’s own librarian, Mrs. Bamford! Third through sixth grade students across Texas vote for the winner after reading at least 5 of the books. Zachary T., Anna M., and Daniel M. had the opportunity to read a description of one of the books and reveal another book on the list for next year. They did such a great job! Our Comet’s shine bright!
